When Sharon’s friend Maddy and her elderly father were looking for a feline companion, she knew exactly where to turn - Stour Valley Rescue, Stourbridge, where she volunteers. The rescue was overflowing with gorgeous cats in need of loving homes, and one little black cat, Archie, made his choice clear the moment he met Maddy!
Archie, a beautiful three-year-old black cat with striking big eyes, had a tough beginning. He arrived at the rescue in a sorry state - unwanted, unneutered, and in desperate need of care. Thanks to the incredible team at Stour Valley Rescue, he was given the love, attention, and medical care he needed, including being neutered and well-fed, until he was ready for a fresh start.
With the rescue needing to free up space for more incoming cats, it was important to find Archie a home as soon as possible. As soon as Maddy met him, he sealed the deal with affectionate purrs and gentle nudges. Since Maddy doesn’t drive, Sharon was more than happy to personally take Archie to his new home in Dudley.
The moment he arrived, Archie wasted no time settling in—exploring his surroundings, purring happily, and even claiming his brand-new cat tower as his own!
There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a rescue cat find a loving home, and Archie’s story is a wonderful reminder of the difference that adoption can make. He now has a caring family and all the fuss he could ever want—the perfect outcome for this once-neglected kitty.
