It was a delightful Autumn morning at Hagley Community Centre, where the local community gathered for the highly anticipated Stour Valley Cat Rescue Table Top Sale. Our Stourbridge franchisee, Sharon, attended in support of the rescue’s important work, contributing to a day filled with feline-themed stalls, a tombola, raffle, and delicious cakes. All this was set to the lively tunes of the Bugs Ukelele Strummers, making it a joyful event. Organised by the dedicated volunteers, the day aimed to raise much-needed funds for the charity’s vital work.

Sharon said:

"The Stour Valley Cat Rescue team does incredible work all year round, rescuing, caring for, and rehoming so many cats in need. They’re always full to the brim with cats waiting for their forever homes, and of course, there’s always a constant need for funds and support. That's why events like this are so important, not only to raise money but to help spread the word about the amazing work they do."

"I volunteer at the rescue regularly, so I was more than happy to pitch in and help out on the day. It’s always such a warm and welcoming atmosphere whenever cat lovers get together for a good cause, and this event was no exception! I even brought my face paints along for a bit of extra fun – both the kids and adults loved it, and we had some fantastic feline faces by the end of the day!"

"The community really came together, and the support was overwhelming. We had so many wonderful stalls selling all sorts of cat-related goodies, from toys and treats to handmade crafts. The raffle and tombola were popular too, and there were some brilliant prizes up for grabs. The Bugs Ukelele Strummers also provided some lovely entertainment, creating a lively, joyful buzz throughout the day."

"By the end of the event, we had raised almost £1500 – an incredible amount! We couldn’t be more grateful for the generosity of everyone who came along, donated, or volunteered their time. Every penny raised will go towards the care of the cats and help keep the rescue running smoothly."

"I really hope that events like this not only raise the funds that the rescue desperately needs but also encourage more people to get involved, whether that’s fostering, volunteering, or even giving a cat in need their forever home. The work they do is so important, and it’s wonderful to see the community come together to support it."
